- Manchester United introduced their white Nike away jersey in July 2012 for the 2012/13 season. Its restrained design combined a traditional Henley-style collar with red accents, monochrome branding, and Aon sponsorship. The white, red, and black color scheme recalled earlier Manchester United change kits, while the collar and inner-neck details reflected Nike's approach to the club's heritage. Under Sir Alex Ferguson, United entered the campaign seeking to regain the Premier League title after narrowly losing the previous season's championship to Manchester City. The arrival of Robin van Persie from Arsenal strengthened a squad featuring Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, and Ryan Giggs. Van Persie scored 26 league goals as United secured their 20th English top-flight championship with 89 points, finishing 11 ahead of Manchester City. The club reached the UEFA Champions League round of 16 before losing to Real Madrid. Ferguson announced his retirement in May 2013, making this title-winning campaign his final season as Manchester United manager.
