- Brazil's 1998 away jersey was produced by Nike during the FIFA World Cup in France, featuring the national team's traditional alternative blue color and a four-star CBF crest representing its World Cup titles in 1958, 1962, 1970, and 1994. Managed by Mário Zagallo, the defending champions topped Group A after victories over Scotland and Morocco, followed by a defeat to Norway. Brazil then defeated Chile 4–1, Denmark 3–2, and the Netherlands on penalties after a 1–1 semifinal draw to reach a second consecutive World Cup final. On 12 July 1998, Brazil lost 3–0 to host nation France at the Stade de France, finishing as tournament runners-up. The squad included Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Bebeto, Cafu, Roberto Carlos, and captain Dunga. Nike's blue alternative kit remains closely associated with Brazil's late-1990s football identity and the transition into the brand's long-running partnership with the national team.
