- The 1995-96 season was Massimo Moratti's first full campaign as Inter president, and it began a new era of ambition at the club. Results were uneven at first: coach Ottavio Bianchi left early in the season and Roy Hodgson took over in the autumn. Inter suffered a surprise first-round UEFA Cup exit to Swiss side Lugano, but steadied in Serie A to finish seventh and secure a return to Europe, laying the groundwork for the stronger sides that followed.
- This away shirt marks the start of one of football's longest sponsorship partnerships, as Pirelli first appeared on Inter's shirts in 1995. Umbro's design is among the most daring of the decade, layering oversized gold monogram motifs, textured panels and blue bands across the shoulders of a white body, all framed by a striped polo collar.
