- This jersey belongs to Colombia's 1994 World Cup campaign, a tournament the team entered as one of the favorites after an impressive qualifying run that included a 5-0 win over Argentina. Brazilian great Pele publicly tipped Colombia to win the tournament outright. Under coach Francisco Maturana, the team was built around a golden generation featuring Carlos Valderrama, Faustino Asprilla, and Freddy Rincon, and expectations across the country were extremely high heading into the finals.
- Colombia's tournament unraveled quickly, opening with a 3-1 defeat to Romania before losing 2-1 to the United States in a match remembered for a deflected own goal by defender Andres Escobar. A late win over Switzerland was not enough to prevent a group-stage elimination. In the days that followed, Escobar was killed in Medellin, a tragedy widely linked to the outcome of that match. The 1994 campaign remains one of the most sobering chapters in Colombian football history, and this jersey is tied directly to that story.
