- This home jersey belongs to Brazil's 2012-13 period, a time of significant upheaval for the national team. In November 2012, the Brazilian Football Confederation sacked Mano Menezes and brought back Luiz Felipe Scolari, the manager who had led Brazil to World Cup glory a decade earlier in 2002, tasked with rebuilding the side ahead of hosting the 2014 World Cup. Scolari inherited a young, relatively inexperienced squad built around emerging stars Neymar, Oscar and Lucas Moura, and results were initially underwhelming.
- By June 2013, Brazil had fallen to 22nd in the FIFA world rankings, their worst-ever position, and doubts grew over Scolari's methods heading into the Confederations Cup, a dress rehearsal for the World Cup. Warm-up friendlies against England and France offered little reassurance, but the mood shifted dramatically once the tournament began, as Brazil went on to win the Confederations Cup, defeating defending champions Spain 3-0 in the final. Made by Nike, this jersey is tied to the uncertain buildup before that pivotal turnaround in Scolari's second spell in charge.
