- This home jersey belongs to Manchester City's 2007-08 season, the club's first under Thai owner Thaksin Shinawatra, who bought City for around 81.6 million pounds that summer and appointed former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson. Backed by roughly 30 million pounds in new signings including Elano, Martin Petrov, Vedran Corluka and Rolando Bianchi, City made a strong start, winning their first four league games and beating rivals Manchester United 1-0, only their second league win over United in 18 years.
- The promising form faded as the season progressed, worsened by uncertainty over Thaksin's frozen assets amid Thai legal proceedings, and City slumped to an infamous 8-1 defeat at Middlesbrough on the final day of the season, still their heaviest ever Premier League loss. City finished ninth, and the club was sold to Sheikh Mansour's Abu Dhabi United Group that September, beginning a new era. Made by Le Coq Sportif and sponsored by Thomas Cook, this jersey marks the final season before City's transformation into a global superpower.
