- This home jersey belongs to Newcastle United's 2000-01 season, Bobby Robson's second full campaign in charge after replacing Ruud Gullit the previous year. Robson worked with limited transfer funds following heavy stadium expenditure, bringing in a mix of South American imports and lesser-known signings to rebuild the squad. Injuries to captain Alan Shearer and forward Carl Cort for large parts of the season forced Newcastle to lean heavily on youngster Shola Ameobi and veteran Kevin Gallacher, and the team scored 19 fewer league goals than the previous campaign.
- Despite briefly topping the table early on, Newcastle spent most of the season in mid-table, eventually finishing 11th in the Premier League for the second year running, with Shearer, Cort and Nolberto Solano sharing the top scorer honors on seven goals each. Cup competitions brought little joy, with early exits from both the FA Cup and League Cup in Birmingham. Made by adidas and sponsored by NTL, this jersey represents a transitional year in Robson's project before Newcastle's strong finishes of the following two seasons.
