- This away jersey was worn across Arsenal's 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons under manager Arsene Wenger. In 2002-03, Arsenal squandered an eight-point lead to finish runners-up in the Premier League to Manchester United, but salvaged the season by retaining the FA Cup with a win over Southampton, with Thierry Henry claiming the Golden Boot on 24 goals. That collapse became the catalyst for Wenger's famous prediction that a team could go an entire season unbeaten, a claim widely mocked at the time.
- Wenger's prophecy came true the following season, as Arsenal went unbeaten through all 38 Premier League matches in 2003-04, winning 26 and drawing 12 to become 'The Invincibles,' only the second English top-flight team ever to complete a season without defeat. Captained by Patrick Vieira and inspired by Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Robert Pires, Arsenal sealed the title with a draw at rivals Tottenham.
