- This away jersey belongs to Liverpool's 1992-93 season, the club's first in the newly formed Premier League and one of the more difficult campaigns of the era under manager Graeme Souness. Injuries to established players including John Barnes, Jan Molby, Steve Nicol and Ian Rush unsettled the squad, and none of the new signings, including goalkeeper David James, made an immediate impact. Liverpool finished a disappointing sixth, at one stage sitting as low as 15th in the table, and failed to qualify for European competition the following season.
- Striker Ian Rush remained a key figure despite the struggles, becoming the club's all-time record goalscorer that season and finishing with 22 goals in all competitions. Made by adidas, the jersey carries a special centenary badge marking 100 years since Liverpool's founding in 1892, and introduced Carlsberg as the club's new shirt sponsor, replacing Candy. As a kit tied to both the club's centenary celebrations and the difficult early days of the Premier League, this jersey holds particular interest for Liverpool collectors.
