- AC Milan marked the club's 120th anniversary in 2019, having been founded in 1899 by English expatriates as the Milan Football and Cricket Club. The commemorative kit incorporated gold detailing and the number 120 into the crest area to mark the milestone.
- Emirates became AC Milan's shirt sponsor in 2017, part of the airline's wide portfolio of European football sponsorships. The red and black vertical stripes, worn by the club since its founding, are said to represent the fire of passion in red and the fear the team instilled in opponents in black.
