- The 1988/89 season followed AC Milan's Serie A title win in 1987/88, entitling the club to wear the tricolor scudetto shield on its shirts. This period is widely regarded as one of the most dominant eras in the club's history, built under manager Arrigo Sacchi's tactical revolution.
