- This shirt uses a template similar to West Ham's genuine late-1990s kits, but the Iron Maiden branding shown here was never actually worn on the pitch in 1999. West Ham's real shirt sponsor throughout that period was Dr Martens, a deal that ran from 1998 to 2003, with the club's kit made by Pony in 1998-99 and Fila from 1999-2000 onward. The Iron Maiden connection is real, however: bassist Steve Harris is a lifelong West Ham supporter and former youth player, and his passion for the club is well known among the band's fanbase.
- The official Iron Maiden x West Ham collaboration, titled Die With Your Boots On, did not launch until 2019, followed by further shirts in later years referencing both the club's history and the band's own milestones.
