- This away jersey was worn across Brazil's 1993-94 campaign, a period that began under real threat of missing the World Cup altogether. Coach Carlos Alberto Parreira had banned Romario from the squad after a public dispute, and Brazil suffered their first-ever World Cup qualifying defeat against Bolivia, leaving them needing to beat Uruguay at the Maracana in their final qualifier just to reach the finals. Parreira recalled Romario for that decisive match, and he scored both goals in a 2-0 win to send Brazil to USA 1994.
- At the World Cup itself, Romario formed a devastating partnership with Bebeto, the pair combining for eight goals as Brazil went unbeaten through the tournament, beating Italy on penalties in the final to win a record fourth title and end a 24-year wait for the trophy.
