- This third jersey belongs to Arsenal's 2007-08 season, a campaign of huge early promise under Arsene Wenger following the departure of Thierry Henry to Barcelona that summer. A young, attacking side built around captain Cesc Fabregas and Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who scored 30 goals in all competitions, led the Premier League table for much of the season. The title challenge unravelled after Eduardo suffered a horrific leg break against Birmingham City in February 2008, a match that also saw a public meltdown from defender William Gallas; Arsenal went on to finish third with a then-club-record 83 points, having also fallen to Liverpool in the Champions League quarter-finals.
- Made by Nike, the jersey introduces an unusual maroon and navy horizontal stripe design finished with gold trim on the collar and cuffs, a striking departure from Arsenal's traditional colors. The club crest and Fly Emirates sponsor are rendered in gold across the chest. Description
The shirt has wide horizontal stripes alternating navy and maroon across the body and sleeves. The V-neck collar is navy with gold piping trim, and the sleeve cuffs are trimmed in gold. A gold embroidered Nike swoosh sits on the left chest, with the Arsenal crest, a red shield with the club name and a gold cannon, positioned on the right chest. A large gold Fly Emirates wordmark is printed across the center chest. Gold NikeFIT text is printed near the lower left hem, and a rectangular tag with gold script text and a green oval emblem is sewn inside the collar.
