- The 2003/04 season came during a period of transition for Barcelona, as the club worked to rebuild under new leadership following a difficult run of seasons in the early 2000s. This white away kit's subtle pinstripe design reflected Nike's more understated approach to away shirt colourways for the club during this period.
- Barcelona had not yet introduced a shirt sponsor at this point in its history, a policy the club maintained until 2006, when the UNICEF partnership began. This shirt's clean, unbranded front is characteristic of that earlier era of the club's kit history.
