- The 1985/86 season was a landmark year for Liverpool, as the club won a league and cup double under player-manager Kenny Dalglish, one of the most successful campaigns in the club's history. This Adidas shirt, marked with the FA Cup Final badge, was worn during that period, with the sponsor branding carrying into the following seasons.
- The FA Cup final was played at Wembley Stadium on 10 May 1986, where Liverpool faced local rivals Everton in an all-Merseyside final.
