Product Stats
- The sky blue and white stripes are among the most recognisable colours in world football, and adidas's 2006 version added curved panels and gold piping for a modern look. The two stars above the AFA crest represented Argentina's World Cup triumphs in 1978 and 1986.
- At the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, Argentina impressed with fluid attacking football, topping a demanding group and beating Mexico in extra time in the round of 16. Their campaign ended in a tense quarter-final against the hosts in Berlin, decided on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Long-sleeve versions of this shirt are particularly prized by collectors.
