Product Stats
- In 2006 Germany hosted the FIFA World Cup, and the tournament became a celebrated festival of football across the country. adidas created this bold red away shirt with black and gold detailing to bring the national colours together, offering a striking alternative to the traditional white home kit.
- On the pitch, the host nation played an energetic, attacking style that won over supporters at home and abroad. Germany reached the semi-finals, where they were narrowly beaten by eventual champions Italy after extra time, before securing third place with a win over Portugal in Stuttgart. The summer is still remembered as a turning point for the national team.
