- White has long been Inter's traditional away colour, and the diagonal sash in blue and black is one of the most recognisable ways the club has carried its Nerazzurri identity onto an alternative kit. Nike's 2011/12 version gave the classic idea a modern finish, pairing the sash with a polo collar and the long-running Pirelli sponsorship.
- The shirt also carried a small Milan city flag at the back of the neck, a nod to the club's roots in the city where it was founded in 1908. The 2011/12 campaign followed a period of major trophies for Inter and proved to be a season of transition, but the clean, bold design has remained a favourite among collectors.
