- The 1995/96 season was one of Newcastle United's most memorable Premier League campaigns, as the club emerged as a serious title contender under manager Kevin Keegan. adidas supplied Newcastle's kits during this period, while Newcastle Brown Ale remained closely associated with the club's shirt identity. Newcastle led the league for much of the campaign and established a substantial advantage at the top of the standings before Manchester United eventually overtook them. The club finished second with 78 points from 38 matches, recording 24 victories and securing qualification for the following season's UEFA Cup. Although Newcastle narrowly missed out on the championship, its attacking approach and strong league performance made 1995/96 a defining season in the club's modern history and an enduring reference point for its mid-1990s soccer heritage.
