- Real Madrid's 2014-15 third shirt was created in collaboration with Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto through adidas's Y-3 label, and its black base and dramatic dragon graphic made it one of the most talked-about football shirts of the decade. The club began the season as European champions after winning La Décima in Lisbon, and under Carlo Ancelotti they added the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in December 2014. The campaign ended without further silverware, as Real Madrid finished second in La Liga and lost to Juventus in the Champions League semi-finals.
- Cristiano Ronaldo wore the number 7 shirt and received the Ballon d'Or in January 2015. He went on to score 61 goals in all competitions and 48 in La Liga, winning the European Golden Shoe.
