- The 1998-99 season is one of the greatest in Parma's history. Under Alberto Malesani, the club won the UEFA Cup, beating Olympique de Marseille 3-0 in the final in Moscow, and the Coppa Italia against Fiorentina, while finishing fourth in Serie A. The squad was full of stars, including Fabio Cannavaro, Lilian Thuram, Juan Sebastián Verón, Enrico Chiesa and Hernán Crespo, making Parma one of the most exciting teams in Europe.
- Gianluigi Buffon wore the number 1 shirt and had firmly established himself as Parma's first-choice goalkeeper after making his debut as a teenager in 1995. Still only 21 during the 1998-99 campaign, he combined agility, reflexes and remarkable composure, and his performances played a major role in the club's double. He had also become a regular in the Italy squad, and his later move to Juventus in 2001 made him the world's most expensive goalkeeper at the time.
- This goalkeeper shirt features Lotto's bold red and blue hooped design with a diamond grid pattern, complemented by the yellow and blue collar and the classic Parmalat flower sponsor. It was later revived by Errea as a tribute to Buffon's return to Parma. It appeals to Parma supporters, Buffon and Italy fans, goalkeeper shirt collectors and anyone who loves vibrant Serie A designs from the late 1990s.
