- Argentina wore this home shirt at the 1994 World Cup in the United States under Alfio Basile. With Diego Maradona back in the squad, they beat Greece 4-0 and Nigeria 2-1, but Maradona was then removed from the tournament after failing a doping test. Without him, Argentina lost 2-0 to Bulgaria and were knocked out 3-2 by Romania in the round of 16.
- Ariel Ortega, nicknamed "El Burrito", was a 20-year-old River Plate forward at the tournament and wore the number 17, coming on against Greece and Bulgaria before starting against Romania. As Maradona's international career ended, Ortega was seen as his natural successor, and he was given the number 10 shirt for the 1998 World Cup in France, where he scored twice before being sent off in the quarter-final against the Netherlands. He wore the number 10 again in 2002, so this #10 print is a custom tribute that links the 1994 shirt to the role he went on to fill.
