Product Stats
- Argentina reached the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar under Lionel Scaloni after recovering from a shock opening defeat to Saudi Arabia. On 18 December 2022 at the Lusail Stadium, they faced holders France in one of the greatest finals ever played. Argentina led 2-0 through Messi and Ángel Di María, but Kylian Mbappé scored twice in two minutes to level the match. Messi put Argentina ahead again in extra time before Mbappé completed his hat-trick to make it 3-3. Argentina won the penalty shoot-out 4-2, claiming the country's third World Cup and its first since 1986.
- Lionel Messi wore the number 10 shirt and captained Argentina throughout the tournament. He scored seven goals, including two in the final, and was named the tournament's best player, becoming the first player to win the Golden Ball twice. The final was also his 26th World Cup appearance, a record at the time. After years of near misses, including the 2014 final defeat to Germany, the title completed his career and is widely seen as one of the greatest moments in football history.
- This home shirt carries the match detail from the final beneath the classic sky blue and white stripes, along with the two-star crest worn before the third star was added. The World Cup and Football Unites the World patches complete its tournament look. It appeals to Argentina supporters, Messi fans, World Cup collectors and anyone who wants a shirt tied to one of the most dramatic finals the game has seen.
