- SS Lazio was founded in Rome in January 1900, and the 1999-00 season marked the club's centenary. To celebrate, Lazio introduced a special white commemorative shirt, first worn from 9 January 2000 in the centenary celebrations against Bologna, with sky blue bands and a crest carrying the number 100 and the dates 1900-2000. Under Sven-Göran Eriksson, the season became one of the most successful in the club's history, with Lazio winning the Scudetto on the final day after Juventus lost at Perugia, as well as the Coppa Italia and the UEFA Super Cup.
- Juan Sebastián Verón joined from Parma in summer 1999 and wore the number 23 shirt. The Argentine midfielder controlled games with his range of passing, vision and powerful shooting, and he quickly became central to Eriksson's side. Alongside Pavel Nedvěd, Diego Simeone and Dejan Stanković in midfield, and with Alessandro Nesta at the back, Verón helped Lazio win only their second league title. He scored on his debut in the Super Cup against Manchester United and remained a key figure throughout the double-winning campaign.
- This centenary shirt is one of the rarest Lazio designs, worn only for part of a single season. Its white base, sky blue bands with gold detail and special centenary crest set it apart from the club's regular sky blue home shirts. The Cirio sponsor and Puma detailing complete its late-1990s look.
