- The 1994-95 season is one of the greatest in Ajax's history. Under Louis van Gaal, a young side built around academy graduates and smart signings went through the entire Eredivisie season unbeaten to win the title. In Europe, Ajax also stayed unbeaten throughout the Champions League, beating holders AC Milan 1-0 in the final in Vienna on 24 May 1995. The winning goal came from 18-year-old substitute Patrick Kluivert, and the squad included Edwin van der Sar, Frank and Ronald de Boer, Edgar Davids, Clarence Seedorf, Jari Litmanen, Marc Overmars and veteran captain Frank Rijkaard.
