Product Stats
- Real Madrid began 2008-09 as Spanish champions, wearing the national flag on their shirts, and opened the season by beating Valencia in the Supercopa. Bernd Schuster was replaced by Juande Ramos in December, and although the team mounted a long unbeaten run, they finished second behind Barcelona. Liverpool eliminated them heavily in the Champions League round of 16. Iker Casillas, Raúl, Wesley Sneijder and Gonzalo Higuaín were key figures, and the summer of 2009 brought Florentino Pérez back as president with a wave of major signings.
- Kaká was born in Brasília in 1982 and rose to fame at São Paulo before joining AC Milan in 2003. There he won the 2007 Champions League and the 2007 Ballon d'Or, becoming one of the most elegant attacking midfielders of his generation. Real Madrid signed him in June 2009 for a then-record fee, and he took the number 8 shirt. Known for his powerful runs from midfield and composed finishing, he became a symbol of the club's new galáctico era, though injuries limited his impact in Madrid.
- This away shirt pairs a black textured base with crisp white three-stripe shoulders and a white collar for a sharp, understated look. The Spanish flag patch marks Real Madrid's status as reigning league champions, while the starball and number 9 badge of honour identify it as a Champions League version. Paired with Kaká's number 8, it bridges the season before his arrival and the era he helped launch. It appeals to Real Madrid supporters, Kaká fans, galáctico-era collectors, collectors of Champions League-version shirts and fans of black football kits.
