- Jupp Heynckes' Bayern Munich produced one of the most dominant seasons in European football in 2012-13. They won the Bundesliga with a record points total, beat Barcelona 7-0 on aggregate in the Champions League semi-finals and faced Borussia Dortmund in the first all-German final at Wembley, wearing their new home kit for the first time. Mario Mandžukić opened the scoring before Dortmund levelled from the penalty spot, and Bayern then completed a treble by beating Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal final.
- Arjen Robben was born in Bedum, Netherlands, in 1984 and joined Bayern from Real Madrid in 2009 after spells with PSV and Chelsea. Wearing the number 10, he was famous for cutting in from the right onto his left foot. After missing a penalty in the 2012 final defeat to Chelsea, he found redemption at Wembley, setting up Mandžukić's opener and scoring the 89th-minute winner. That night became the defining moment of his Bayern career.
