Product Stats
- Ajax's 1997-98 away jersey was manufactured by Umbro, featuring a distinctive navy design with red and white shoulder stripes, a contrasting polo collar and vertical ABN AMRO sponsorship. Oversized Ajax crest graphics and bold AJAX lettering along the sides gave the shirt its unique identity. The design accompanied a successful period under manager Morten Olsen, when the Amsterdam club remained a leading force in Dutch football.
- During the 1997-98 season, Ajax won the Eredivisie and KNVB Cup double, finishing comfortably ahead of PSV Eindhoven in the league. Finnish playmaker Jari Litmanen, wearing number 10, remained an influential attacking figure alongside Shota Arveladze, Michael Laudrup and the De Boer brothers. Ajax also competed in the UEFA Cup, reaching the quarter-finals. This navy Umbro jersey represents a memorable championship-winning season.
