The Mars sponsor and Italian Scudetto shield reflected Napoli's status as reigning Serie A champions following their 1989-90 title triumph. Its classic polo collar and minimalist design capture the unmistakable identity of Italian football in the early 1990s.
- The 1990-91 campaign marked Diego Maradona's final season with Napoli after seven extraordinary years at the club.
